Out of Spaced: Mimi Tong’s work exhibited at Museum of the Great Southern
Rosie Halsmith
We are pleased to see Mimi Tong’s work, View of Albany from the Princess Royal Harbour Western Australia c. December 2009, in its new home at the Museum of the Great Southern.
This work was created during a two-month residency in Albany, in a collaboration with New Arts Inc. & MIX artists. This was part of Art Out of Place.
Tong’s six meter concertina ink drawing was inspired by the maritime explorers who recorded views of Albany’s coastline from the sea and the social engagements Mimi Tong held with the community during her residency.
