Know Thy Neighbour #3 event: Walkies Map Making with Amy Perejuan-Capone

Amy Perejuan-Capone is currently working with the community of Melville. This residency forms part of one of Spaced’s current programs, Know Thy Neighbour #3.

Amy Perejuan-Capone works between Fremantle, the Perth hills, and international residencies. With a background in art and design, Perejuan-Capone’s practice is underpinned by an enquiry into the systems of exchange that are present through the acquisition and application of craft.

For her participation in the Know Thy Neighbour #3 residency, Perejuan-Capone will be working with the City of Melville to explore the social, ethical, and practical underpinnings of local government policies relating to dogs. She is interested in how these policies affect dogs and their human families, and in expanding an understanding of dog friendly public space as social sculpture in a more-than-human environment.

Come along to this fun workshop with artist Amy Perejuan-Capone and draw a map of the journeys you make with your dog when you go walkies. The map can be realistic or fantastical, your local streets and parks, or to the moon! Where does your dog stop and sniff? Do they pull you in a particular direction? Where would you take your dog if you could go anywhere?

Workshops are across three times:

Saturday 17th September,
9:30am - 10:30am
10:30am - 12:00pm
13:00pm - 14:30pm

All ages welcome
