Rural Utopias Residency: Jacky Cheng presents works-in-progress in Margaret River

Jacky Cheng is currently working with the community of Margaret River. This residency forms part of one of Spaced’s current programs, Rural Utopias.

Jacky Cheng has returned to Wooditjup Country, Margaret River for her Stage 2 Rural Utopia residency. In 2021, she presented a community project based on interpretation of community identity and intergenerational relationship within a family as a response to a community noticeboard requesting for the return of a lost blanket. In Stage 2, she is collaborating with local makers Salvatore Caruso (Sam) and Nigel Smith.

Jacky, Sam and Nigel will be presenting their works-in-progress project to the Margaret River & Witchcliffe communities on 25 February. All are welcome to come along for this free event, which will involve a short presentation, conversation and an art-making activity for all to enjoy.
