Spaced welcomes Mayma Awaida to our Professional Development Program

We are pleased to welcome Mayma Awaida to the Spaced Professional Development Program, as part of the Curatorial Stream. Mayma will be the Curator of Know Thy Neighbour #3, one of our current programs of site-responsive works.

Know Thy Neighbour #3 is the third iteration in our series of Perth-based art projects. The program presents six works that ask artists to investigate notions of place, sites of interest, networks, and social relationships, alongside partner communities.

Mayma Awaida is a first-generation Lebanese producer and artist interested in community-engaged creative practice. Working independently as well on collaborative projects, she was Producer for The Other Film Festival WA 2021 through DADAA, Gallery Manager at Cool Change Contemporary, and a commissioned artist in Perth Festival’s program (Rethinking the Image, 2021). Mayma creates and contemplates on Whadjuk Noongar Bibbulmun boodjar.
