Rural Utopias
Dates: 2019-23
Rural Utopias is a program of residencies and exhibitions in rural and remote Western Australia. Artists Georgie Mattingley, Nathan Gray, Jacky Cheng, Tina Stefanou, Jo Darbyshire, Bennett Miller, Ana Tiquia, Sarah Rodigari, Alana Hunt, Elizabeth Pedler and Mike Bianco are developing new works alongside their host communities, responding to new social, environmental, and historical contexts.

Art Out of Place (2009-12). Between 2009 and 2012, 21 Australian and overseas artists and collectives were invited to live and work in one of 16 regional communities across the state, each residency lasting 2 months.
Know Thy Neighbour #2 (2018-19). Moving beyond inner-city Perth, Know Thy Neighbour #2 invited nine West Australian artists to develop and present projects in response to their own neighbourhoods including metropolitan sites in the north, south and east.
